Volunteering
The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization reports that approximately 400,000 hospice volunteers contribute more than 18 million hours per year.

Why are Volunteers important?
Hospice volunteers are the heart of Hospice and among its most valuable resources. They can bring companionship to the patient and respite and support to the caregiver and other family members. Volunteers are drawn from every age group and background. All Hospice Volunteers are committed to making a difference in the lives of their neighbors.

I thought volunteering at Hospice Care Network would allow me to “give back” and in a small way show my appreciation for the wonderful care given my parents in their final months and the resulting peace of mind given to me.  Instead, I am still on the receiving end, and am honored to be befriended by the most caring, compassionate and dedicated patient advocates, and witness these true hospice angels at work.  My life has been enriched by them and I am still getting so much more than I give.
